COMPANY BACKGROUND

Nick Williams is the senior partner of Chromavision Worldwide. He started his career at the BBC as a film editor and then gained experience working assisting on films for Arena, Omnibus, Shoestring etc. He later took full film editorial responsibility for programmes such as Snowdon on Photography and Blue Peter.

In 1981 he left the BBC and formed Chromavision, chiefly to service the travel market with his own marketing concept, the video brochure. This is a travel brochure on video giving details of travel companies' services and accommodation, but also taking the viewer on a scenic tour of the relevant countryside and offering a taste of the lifestyle there. The concept has been extremely successful.

The company then moved into other promotional areas doing substantial work in the financial services sector, making use of all video and film formats including TV and cinema commercials.

In August 1988 Chromavision Worldwide was formed to reflect the company's increasing international status, and the growing public and corporate demand for travel video production, both the programmes and their distribution. Nick has built up a respected international video library and is frequently meeting requests for specialised footage from the broadcast networks. Around the world - 60 metres underwater - at twice the speed of sound - and below –40 degrees centigrade - it’s all been part of the normal shooting world of Chromavision.

However, work for the IT and PR industries, with the associated demands for subject understanding, became an increasing part of Chromavision Worldwide output.

1997 saw Nick being asked back to the BBC to guide the production of current affairs documentaries, using new lightweight digital acquisition techniques. ‘The Class of ‘97’ won many accolades and was chosen as ‘Choice of the Week’ by the critics.

Over the years Chromavision has amassed considerable technical expertise, and with its recent acquisition of additional media know-how it is able to offer its clients versatile solutions to their entire communications needs.
